Turkey virgin here, never been but looking to book for end of june next year. Couple of questions if thats ok?!

Is it too hot for kids? Compared to spain/majorca etc.
Marmaris - is it a family resort?

Basically the hotel i mentioned in the subject seems to be the best choice for us, i just need someone to tell me its fab and marmaris is the place for us! Us being 2 adults and 3 kids. 10, 3 and 3.

the flight comes in quite late which TBH is putting me off, lands at about 130am local time. How long is the transfer from the airport.

Ill have a look at more reviews, checked out some, they look good......

Hi bev26. We have been taking our kids to marmaris since they were 6 & 3 and they are 17 & 14 now !!! end of june will be hot but with a nice pool like the one at ilyada with water slides they won't be too worried about the heat.
Marmaris can be what you want it to be. we would stay away from bar street but all the bars and restaurants around the resort welcome families and many provide playstations or pool tables for them to play on.
flights to Turkey always seem to arrive in the middle of the night ( in my experince anyway) although we are going on sunday for the second time this year and we have a day flight !!!!!!. The transfer from dalaman to marmaris is about 1 1/2 hours. Don't let that put you off. give it a try. you will go again !!

Hi I would like to say i am arriving at the club Ilayda on the 5th of August along with my 7 year old and 15 yr old. I was hoping to see more comments abouts the place as i have never stayed here before and the last comment on the hotel reviews was in 2010. So if anyone can tell me whats it like please.
We found the flights were 7.00am from glasgow and leaving marmaris 2.30pm in the day so i thought that was great. Yes it will be hot but they will love it. Looking forward to seeing if there are any changes in marmaris as i have not been for a few years.

Hi Iam arriving on the 5th August, any comments on what its like? We are going self catering and was wanting to up grade my 15 year old when i get there to all inclusive, does anyone know if thats possible?

Not sure if you could upgrade your 15 year old to AI - to be fair I would stay SC if I was you! Eating out in Turkey is good vaule for money in most restaurants with lots of choice. In most hotels if you are HB or FI the food is quiet repetitive, but that is just in my opinion!! We will be there on the 12th and so looking forward to it.

If you want to look at other reviews on the Ilyada then google Trip Advisor there seems to be review updates everyday!
