After last year's nightmare (another thread, long story :) ) I was recommended Aussie haircare products. They are brilliant and well worth the money (lots of offers on at the moment too). I use the shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair but also use the 3 minute miracle conditioner as well every other wash and leave it for the 3 mins as directed. Also use the serum for coloured hair too. They do a really good selection of products and for my holiday I have purchased the leave-in conditioner which can be used on wet hair (perfect for putting in after getting out of the pool I thought :think ). I also have a small travel size bottle of the their 3 minute reconstructor deep conditioner. The range includes heat products, frizz products, curls and sleek products to name a few. Definately recommend them :tup

I find my usual conditioner keeps my hair nice and soft and well tamed but the problem I have is with the heat making my hair fall flat on my head. I've fine hair anyway and have to use a blow drying product to give it some lift but as soon as I start getting hot again the style all falls flat. Any tips please?

I've got a narrow crimping iron by Babyliss that I use for special nights out, just crimp the under layer of your hair right next to the roots and leave hair straight on top of it,gives hair extra body. Not sure if it will work in the heat as I've only had it a short while.T.

Just checked mine, called root boost by Babyliss, £21.99 I think.

Thanks for replying Tina. I don't think crimping would work for me because my hair's pretty short and as it's so fine I wouldn't have enough hair on the top layer to hide the crimped effect :think

Ditto Shirley. A friend bought me a pair for Christmas and I'm sorry to say she wasted her money. My hair is too fine to have the thickness of layers and I just ended up with a crimped look :(
What I do find the best for my hair to keep it in place is VO5 Gel Spray firm hold. It has more power than a hairspray. While my hairs wet I spray some all over, comb it through, then when dry, I style it with my tongs or straightners, spray again before brushing out, then I spray my brush as I comb it though then yet another spray. The sprays are fairly light sprays but I need the gel spray as my hairs so fine and soft.

I might give that a go then Glynis. Thanks for the recommendations.

Edited to ask if it's a blue container that says volume boost on it as there's one on e-bay?

Thanks for the tips :tup I will try the VO5 oil and Aussie products before I go.

I could always go for the scrunched-scruffy-just-woke-up-look if they don't work out. :rofl

Hi Shirley it's this one you can get it most places Supermarkets/Boots/Superdrug etc:-

The Volume boost's ok but it's the Mega hold Gel spray - it's only a couple of £'s :tup

Thanks again Glynis, I'll be keeping an eye out for it when I'm next in tesco or Asda and will let you know how I get on with it.

Hi

The past few years while on holiday I've been using the Mark Hill Holiday range from Boots.
They are in regular sizes and handy holiday sizes too.

I use http://www.boots.com/en/Mark-Hill-Holiday-Hair-Straight-Polish-25ml_122166/ as I blow dry my hair and after I've straightened my hair I use http://www.boots.com/en/Mark-Hill-Holiday-Hair-Straight-Anti-Humidity-Spray-50ml_122156/ The spray smells lovely too and I've found my hair stays lovely and straight as usually it goes all frizzy with humidity.

They also have shampoo and conditioner in the range too.

I use lee stafford products, and also tigi but the best thing on the market for sleek glossy locks is morrocan oil...expensive but is the best thing on the planet for hair..

Glynis I got the gel spray and used it for the first time today- It's brilliant. Thanks so much for recommending it, I hope it works as well in the heat of a Greek summer :)

Glad it's worked for you Shirley :tup I find it much better than hairspray for my fine hair.

I use Avon Lotus shield iit's really good wouldn't be without it :)

Clynol Caresse is really good for smooth hair :D

I use a small amount of John Frieda Frizz Ease, blow dry volume spray on the roots and smoothing cream on the lengths then after drying with my Babyliss Big Hair rotating brush I use my GHD straighteners. I don't find Moroccan oil any good for my hair but daughter uses it and she has long glossy locks. If your hair is fine the Aussie range can be a bit heavy.
