I go All Inclusive to Cuba every year, but we tip for good service only. We normally wait until the end of an evening and tip for the whole service and not for a round of drinks.

I generally do this, when I am goiing home, and leave alot of loose changes, plus another 20 Euro for the maids

In the USA you are expected to tip around 20% of the bill! Strangely in Italy we got the worst service we have ever encountered. Even when we were the only customer in the bar or shop the service was still appalling. So much so that we walked out of a few places in disgust!

I always check that there isn't a "compulsory" service charge before tipping......

we usually add a couple of euros to the bill at the end unless the service/meal has been really awful which isnt often

Yes, constantly when we go to Vegas. Daily tip for housekeeping and 18-20% in restaurants, taxis, spa services and any other service and at least $1 a drink to cocktail waitresses and barmen.

We always Tip at the end of the evening , as for freebies have only been to greece twice and in both resorts we were always given free drinks and fresh fruit, mainly grapes were put on the table , one of the restaurants " Acropolis" in Crete also gave you a free jug of wine , never did this happen when we used to go to Spain

we tip at the end of the dive holiday...we tip the dive guides and we tip the boat boys. generally on a liveabaord, the recommended tip amount for the entire week is £30 per person to be shared out between the boat boys and what ever you feel for the dive guides in another envelope.

generally, Rob and I put another £20 each in for that..but you can always guarantee one of the guides works harder than the other.

There are 26 guests on a full liveaboard at Blue O2.

it is a very good job for the boat boys to have.

On other holidays, we usually tip for good service..add on a little extra to the bill and just hand it over...

in spain i always tip in spanish bars when i pay the bill at the end.i usually just round the bill up to the nearest euro if we have only had coffees, but round to €5 if we have had drinks.
in my local in lloret i usually buy all the staff a drink on my first night there, and on my last night, but otherwise dont tip.
in "british" bars i dont tend to tip, but occassionally buy a drink for bar staff who have shown some degree of customer service during my stay.
in restaurants i will always tip unless i have cause for a complaint. slow(ish) service is fairly normal, but if i am having a meal out with someone (rather than just going to be fed) i am normally quite happy that i am not being rushed. i still tend to tip at around 10%, but the actual amount will vary slightly as i don't like waiting for change -i find that there seems to be an absolute age between handing over the cash and getting change- so i just leave whatever i have on me that is near 10%.
in hotels i tip the maid. any time i go back to my room i empty all the small change, anything less than 50 cents, into a glass and just leave that. i usually have a quick check to make sure that they are getting something decent and top this up if necessary.
when i am away with friends for our "boys holidays" we stay AI and we make a point of each night taking turns to put €5 in the tip pot. this usually ensures we get proper glasses and don't need to queue to get our drinks.

Yes we also tip for good service. I do check to make sure that an automatic tip hasn't been included and also tip in line with what the local custom is i.e 10%, 20%, up to the nearest round Euro etc

We have stayed AI for the last few trips due to the poor euro but do tip for good service, its surprising how much quicker you get served at a free bar if the barman recognises you ;)

Yes we always leave around 10% for evening meal & small change at cafes etc & money in hotel room for the cleaning staff.
I know that some nationalities only tip rarely so maybe we're the mugs?! ;)

always if the service and food was good, relly depends on what we spent aswell, my mum and sister alsways tip the waiter in the hotel even if we have had a cafe con leche, in fuengirola where I go especially the tapas places we always leave a good tip as tapas isnt expensive anyway plus the they dont earn alot...even now we tip if we have had a decent glass of rioja in a spanish bar as they are that cheap..

We always tip if the meals are good and the service is good too, and it hasn't happened very often but when we have had poor service or a bad meal we just pay what it costs or round it up to the nearest euro.

AI in Egypt last week, we tipped the regular bar drinks waiter and the pool towel chap £1 daily. We gave the meals waiter and the cleaner £5 half way through the week. Others we tipped as we felt necessary.
