We also have taken advantage of qatars amazing prices this last weekend.

£485 for Goa in February and as my wife had some extra time off work and for me easy to arrange some just melted the credit card further and booked to Thailand for this weekend for £488.

As the taxes account for about half the fare not sure how they are making money.

That's a great deal - some friends have just booked, too.

Qatar have reduced the Manchester flights from £722 to £454. I wish I knew what games these airlines play.....we booked to Mumbai a few weeks ago then and internal flights to Goa because of the high prices.

Not a great deal of difference in price but so much better to go with just one stop. We should have waited but I never thought they would drop by that much. :que

It will be interesting to see how long these prices last. I'm going to make a note of the dates of price changes in my diary for next year.....although I should think it's purely demand driven and people were staying away at £722, so they dropped it to fill some seats.

For those who haven't booked yet, I'd fill yer boots at that price!

Last season I payed £550, this season, very reluctantly £650 a few months ago. Not sure what strategy Qatar is pursueing,. Certainly their £700 plus was way too high. but to now drop their prices by so much will, I feel sure , impact next season on their sales. We go regularly to Sydney and Thailand and spend many many hours trawling for prices, but to make a drop in price of this magnitude is, in my experience , almost unheard of. Nexy season I think Qatars long term advance bookings will suffer, as many, myself included, will be most reluctant to book again with them, in any confidence. Well done the lucky ones who managed this great deal.

Thats a great deal you had there Kags52,I must say though it was only the manchester flights that went down to that price, not the london flights to Doa/Goa,they are still £690.
In May they were £540,so paid to book early this year. :duh :que

Well we've just booked for 4 of us (it would be rude not to at those prices) we will be leaving on 12th Feb coming back 5th March. We will be spending the last week down south, all's we need to do now is sort out somewhere to stay around Candolim. I have emailed a couple of places to see if they have any availability and if so what prices they are charging. Any reccomendations would be welcome.....first time we have booked DIY so lets hope all goes to plan.....cheers Keith

Once again well done Karen & Neil for alerting everyone...... :cheers
