Thanks for all your help and information. Just got back from Cyprus yesterday on TOM2337. It was a 757, very cramped compared to last year's 767. Interestingly on the outbound flight on 15/6/11 there was no IFE even though the screens were there and no explanation or mention of it. On the return flight we had one film and then nothing for about 2 1/2 hours. However Atlantica Golden Beach in Paphos more than made up for the flight - wonderful, for third year in a row.

Hi all,

Hoping you might be able to help me. Im flying on Thomson flight TOM078 from London Gatwick to Cancun on 02/07. We have paid for extra leg room and been allocated seats 20F and G. Does anyone know what these seats are like as far as leg room is concerned, and also, having seen conflicting seating plans, does anyone know if these seats are next to the toilets or not.

Thanks for your help,

Welcome onboard :tup
LGW-CUN-LGW (TOM078/9) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. Row 20 is the overwing exit row and offer lots of room. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including aircraft and cabin photos, and seat plans (V2 is your aircraft). The toilets are at the front and rear of the cabin so nowhere near your seats.

Hi Darren,

Sorry to be a pain but still not sure which plane will be operating from Manchester to las Palmas TOM2112 July 4th and the IFE does not seem to posted for July yet.

Thanks :wave

Marge8,

I've been out and about all day and won't be home until the morning so I can't check on your flight until then. It'll probably be a Boeing 757-200 or similar. I can do long haul from memory but there's nearly 20 pages of flights for short haul! July / August IFE won't be released until the beginning of July. I update the listing as soon as I get it so keep checking in July.

EDIT: MAN-LPA-MAN (TOM2112/3) are operated by an Airbus A321-200.

Just returned from a couple of trips to/from Boa vista on B757- 200's G-OOBN and G-CPEV, these aircraft after 11 plus years seemed very tired and in need of some TLC, cramped conditions on a 6 hour plus flight, my thoughts to those in the know are "would the new B737's that Thomson are in the process of acquiring be better suited on this route?"

I would just like to say thank you to all you guys for your considerable help. :tup

I am a terrible flyer and as such get very stressed about seating, we are flying out to Male in September and because of the advice I received from this site, I phoned Thomsons up 90 before inbound flight and have booked our seats 5A & 5B both ways, it was very easy and they were very helpfull, I can now sit back relax and not worry about the seating.

Thank you again :ghug

joe3400,

Interior wise, the 73H's are more suited to Cape Verde but they would struggle for range, hence the 757-200's are used. The Boeing Enhanced Interior Package fitted to the ex-Thomsonfly 752's in 2005 are pretty much the same as what the interior of the 73H's have. The ex-FCA 752's are a little dated and 'cosy' for the longer flights.

hi darren, i need your help please...again ;)

i have booked our outbound seats today for our flight on 22/9/11 on tom 886 manchester to bodrum, i'm confused as we booked extra legroom seats and have booked seats 26 e & f, which the agent on the phone told us were 2 seats per row and not 3 so we would be on our own- on looking at the seating plan on a seatplan.com, there is no row 26 on the right hand side, only on the left (ie/ seats b & c) so, where are we going to be sitting exactly?

just a bit tetchy as we didnt book on line via flightextras site as it's still 90 days away, so i couldnt view the actual seating plan before booking,

any clarification would be of great help-

thanks so much :tup

emmacat,

TOM886/7 are operated by an Airbus A321-200. Row 26 seats E/F are in pairs on that aircraft. Are you sure you're looking at the correct seat plan as I can see row 26 E/F as a pair?! There is no row 25 on that side of the aircraft (only 25 B/C), maybe you mistook that row as being present? Row 26 is the first row in the aft cabin on the right hand side.

Hello Darren,

Many thanks for your prompt response to our message at the end of May, re the usual plane type..... we [I] are a bit confused as some times a 763 high density would appear to operate the route LGW to TFS as tom4534, does this depend on the time of year, in the summer there are numerous flights to TFS?. Was hoping for a 763 as my wife is not a keen flyer, being twin isle she feels better.

Could you advise which route does the aircarft operate prior, so we can see if there is a delay, plus we have pre booked the meals, are you aware of the type that are served.

We are flying on the 29th July.

Many thanks

Mark & Helen & family.

markhelen,

Aircraft are changed between the seasons and specific days based on need so some flights in the winter maybe operated by a 757 but the same flight in the summer holidays might be a 767, or vice versa. That's why I get an up-to-date aircraft schedule at the beginning of every season but even that is subject to change! LGW-TFS-LGW (TOM4534/5) are scheduled to be operated by a Boeing 757-200. The only flight scheduled to be operated by a Boeing 767 on the LGW-TFS-LGW this summer is the Tuesday flight (TOM4226/7). It's the first flight out that morning for that aircraft, it arrives back in the early hours then has some down-time. Meals will be a breakfast outbound so should be sausage, bacon, ommelate etc and the usual meal on the inbound is sausage and leek mash, but they are subject to change.

Hey! Its a long shot but im stuck @ Glasgow airprt still waiting on this mornings tom742 to punta cana. The plane is here and tech problms are all were being told it is. Does anyone know if we will get the 737-600 or if were actually waiting on a replacement aircraft? Its just that all 280 passangers are confused were not being told anything.

Thanks in advance
Graeme

graeme235,

Thomson don't operate any 737-600's and they don't have the range in anycase to make Punta Cana! You'll have wait for information at the airport. If the problem can't be rectified, a replacement aircraft will likely be sources and sent up for you.

Hi,

Does anyone know of or have a picture of what options are on the food and bar menu in thomson premium to Cancun from Manchester (don't know if it is different to certain destinations or not) but would be interested to know what would be on offer anywho. We are travelling 28th July if that info is also required.

Thanks in advance.

x1lfb,

I can't give you current meal photos, but you'll find examples of previous meals here. As charter food goes, I've always found Thomson Airways to be better than the others. The bar menu is included in the inflight magazine and linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
