Hi Folks
Time for an update.
If you read back you will see that we travelled with Jet to Goa in April.
This was our first time with Jet and they managed to lose our bags between London and Mumbai.
I tried to see if I could get reimbursed for our trouble. I emailed Jet while still in India and after about 6 emails I got a reply.
Very apologetic and offered 2000 jet privilege miles as compensation.
You can buy these online for about £16
We refused this aw we had spent more on replacement toiletries and bits and bobs.
They then offered an upgrade to premier one way on a internal flight. Yep big seats for an hours travel.
I pointed out that the cost between standard and premier was about £240 and if they were willing to knock a similar value off our next complete booking this would be excellent.
They refused this without explanation.
After a few more emails I asked if my complaint could be handled by someone higher in the organisation.
I received an email from Jet at Heathrow who again apologised for the problem and told us we should have received 4000 rupees as interim compensation when the problem was highlighted at Mumbai.
They have sent us a cheque for £110 which will not replace the day we lost without our bags but will go a little way to reduce the cost of our next trip.
I will of course send another email when the cheque has cashed just to ask if that was their interim compensation that would have been paid anyway then what will the do to ensure our repeat business?
Bit cheeky I know but "He who dares"
Point to remember though
We are sorry to learn that your baggage tag numbers 9W46**** & 9W36**** were delayed during your recent trip on Jet Airways flight 9****************APR and interim compensation paid to our guests of INR 4000 each as per the laid down norms on arrival was not paid to you.
Words from jet email
