The rules state that you may be asked to go through a body scanner. Stripping to your "Victoria Secrets" is a red herring. You are viewed by the security staff as a possible threat or a troublemaker. In either case I personally have no hesitation in stating that I hope that if you turn up they very quickly show you the exit.

Like many others on 7/7 I spent hours worrying in case my son was a victim. The sense of relief when I found he had not been able to board the Northern Line train was tremendous. He should have been on that train. You may consider your rights are being infringed. My right to travel in safety is being put in danger by such a selfish attitude that you display.

Take your campaign somewhere else.

The reason I came to this site was to assist people in making a choice when selecting airports.

Please explain, in what way you think im here to cause you trouble? Im not sure what part of 'I offered the same level of security check' you dont get? it wasnt about showing off my underwear in the way you describe.. if i stripped to my underwear and stood in the position, it would offer the same image. I wasnt a troublemaker on the day, i actually got on very well with the staff.

Again, how quickly an innocent, tax paying, law abiding citizen who wasnt trying to dodge the security check and offered an alternative method, gets labelled a threat with a selfish attitude just for having a different point of view and being a bit outspoken.. I travel a lot, using all forms of transport. I want to travel safely too, obviously. Ive never come on here saying im trying to 'campaign' to get them removed or come on here saying we dont need security! I just believe there should be choice when there are 2 options available.

Anyway, whatever you believe, im not here to argue and certainly not here to do whatever it is you've got in mind regarding causing trouble.

I wont come here again as i dont want to bring bad vibes to your forum. I came with a true story and to share research and experience. That is my only agenda.

That is part of the issue, you may think you offered an alternative, but the reality is, you did not offer a viable alternative. Please see previous comments. You know you are innocent and law abiding, but how do security services know that until you've been through the approved checks? The fact you refused is the issue. Again, I feel we are just going around in circles and getting nowhere. Lets just agree to disagree on this one.

Maybe the solution is to offer the choice of the full body search at a price( maybe £50 ) as its takes more time and more people to conduct that type of search. Also if the scanner does some sort of internal check (I've no idea if it does) then that would also be needed on the full body search would the poster still be a keen to have it then, I think not.

Actually, charging for a manual search is not such a bad idea. I'm sure Liverpool would volunteer to be a trial -after all they already offer a paid option to queue jump at security.

I wondered what the views of members are on this. I have only once been asked to go through one (my own daft fault) and personally I have no objevtions. According to my youngest, who has spent a lot of time travelling to the USA in the last few years the security checks here in the UK are a lot less hassle than there.
I, like others, want to get from A to B in safety and if it means scans then so be it. I might add that on 7/7 my youngest could very easily have been on one of the trains except for it being so busy at the station he caught a bus so perhaps that effects my viewpoint.
