Just as important as the exchange rate is the inflation rate. It's nearly 10% in India year on year so expect that large Kingfisher to have left the R100 mark behind !
cheers Dave

We are being conned on the price of Kingfisher - having it delivered last season cost us 38 rups a large one. Just look on the bottle.

I can get lager at the supermarket for 60 pence a can, but wouldn't expect my local pub to sell it at that.
Likewise in Goa, the shack, bar, hotel make a profit on the bottles they buy in.
The profit from the beer you buy pays for the tables, chairs, staff etc etc etc.
Not being conned it's just business!
If you think it is too expensive to buy that way, get it from the local shops etc where I guess it will be sold at the price on the bottle.......... carry it to your choice of venue and ask to use a glass, bottle opener, table and chair for free!

The Nook in Candolim.

Can't understand why some people are happy to sit and drink in places like this. http://forums.dundeebikers.com/public/style_emoticons/default/spew.gif

It is just before you reach Friends restaurant traveling from Calangute, opposite Ruffles. it is actually called something Nook, but I can't remember what. :duh

the prices need to be , thats all it has going for it!
But, each to their own ;)

What can you mean Del :que did you ever see it before they "done it up" :cheers

only short of patrons wearing jogging bottoms and football shirts......hang on,,,some were! :)

The name is Nino's Nook, small terrace in front of the shop, table and chairs and a tidy flushable toilet down the side. Always busy due to cheap prices and only traffic noise and strangled crow noise from Ruffles.
If you buy a bottle of vodka/honeybee from there, you can put your name on it and it's kept until you next return and ask for it - don't know any other place doing that ?
