I wonder what we can expect this year (Feb) interesting to see today's rate was £1 = 74.10 INR . Never sure at what rate to buy, usually buy some before we go and see what the rate is when we are there...
Keith.....
cheers Dave
We are being conned on the price of Kingfisher - having it delivered last season cost us 38 rups a large one. Just look on the bottle.
Likewise in Goa, the shack, bar, hotel make a profit on the bottles they buy in.
The profit from the beer you buy pays for the tables, chairs, staff etc etc etc.
Not being conned it's just business!
If you think it is too expensive to buy that way, get it from the local shops etc where I guess it will be sold at the price on the bottle.......... carry it to your choice of venue and ask to use a glass, bottle opener, table and chair for free!

The Nook in Candolim. or the Public Bar Calanangute it is then.
Public Bar Calanangute
went there once................cheap but have been in tidier places!!!
(and some real odd characters)
The Nook in Candolim.
Can't understand why some people are happy to sit and drink in places like this.
don't know the nook, where is it?

It is just before you reach Friends restaurant traveling from Calangute, opposite Ruffles. it is actually called something Nook, but I can't remember what.
Not my cup of honeybee but if it is the place I am thinking of , far better than the Public bar
annx
I love the public bar, after shopping in Calangute it is a great place to people watch, and the prices were very competative,

the prices need to be , thats all it has going for it!
But, each to their own
What can you mean Del did you ever see it before they "done it up"
only short of patrons wearing jogging bottoms and football shirts......hang on,,,some were!
If you buy a bottle of vodka/honeybee from there, you can put your name on it and it's kept until you next return and ask for it - don't know any other place doing that ?
75.6 today!!! now watch it plummet down to 70 by the time I get there in January. But I will be on my hols so won't care.
where's the public bar?
