A question to all those who normally do DIY...
After trying to search for flights for May/June 2012 and for the ones lost with aegean for July/August 2012 the flights I feel are way over priced... I just wondered what the feeling is out there... Are people still booking up DIY or have I just been unlucky with finding flights.
I have found some from Jet2 for August at £447 (£100 more than the ones I bought with aegean), but not booked as unsure if to wait for Easyjet...
Re Easyjet... Their flights for May/June are expensive too... Have I missed the boat...???
Feeling a little deflated as for us to get a package is not possible as my other half is Turkish...
Just wondered what the DIYers were up to, if anything at all... Thanks...
P.s. the £447 was for 2 people to fly (my daughter and I)!!!
we went with easyjet this year a cost of 770 for 5 of us with luggage if you can wait till about november time thats when they come out for july plus, when easyjet bought out prices for april may june 2012 they were so cheap but as the days go they get dearer, when im booking diy i look ti=o see when the flights are brought out and book that day if you can.

I found the flights with Thomas Cook were a fair price, about the same as Jet2. Try a site like http://www.skyscanner.net which will compare all flights on your dates

we booked with easyjet last year - we booked 5 october and missed out on cheapies! we paid £800 for 3 of us into dalaman - the flights had been out about a week when i booked - i'm keeping my eyes peeled every day now for the next few weeks to see when they are out for next year!

Is your partner in Turkey then? Is there no way you could book a package and then contact the hotel to book him in the room after? I'm sure I have know people to do that before.
To be honest I think £447 for 2 in August isn't too expensive, flights have gone up so much recently. If you get Easyhet flights when they first comne out though you could get them a bit cheaper but you will have to be quick.

Yes Kedi, you hit the nail on the head. I had not thought of trying that re the package as did not think it would be an option. But I guess it's worth a try. The more I think I am realising that the £447 is not too bad and the flights are actually really good times. It's only £40 more than I payed for Easyjet for this year's in August. The dilemma is do I book these or hold off for the EJ rush!!! Even with the £447 it's still cheaper DIY than a package for us anyway with it being in summer hol's.

Hi. I was also deflated struggling to get a good flight deal and eventually opted to go with Je2 on the way there and Fly Thomas Cook on the way home. This has saved us around £100.

easyjet flights are now out til end September 2012 - just booked up for august £250 each!
Ive just tried flights from Manchester to Dalaman and the flights are only available at the moment up to the 2nd September

I have been checkeing ej for a few days now and went on at about 11am. Managed to get flights for £350 for 2 people including luggage (I opted out of sb). On last week July first 2 weeks August. So 3 weeks in school hol's which is what I wanted. Flights same price as aegean and are actually better flight times so I am pleased as punch...
That's one lot bookes and payed for. Now, let's hope I manage get out there before July by some miracle!!!
