I don't see what the problem is, obviously some of you haven't had to plug a games console in to a tv before, so you wouldn't know how easy it is.
My question was mainly to see if the connections would be the same (thank you to those who mentioned the Scart, as that would be the only problem i think?)
When you play a games console, you only need to plug it in to the tv, then use the remote control or a button on the TV to change the 'source' .
You dont need to retune anything, isnt that only to search for channels?
Anyway, if we did need to do that, we would make sure the TV was back to how it was when we arrived

But I thought the idea of going on holiday was to have a change from our everyday lives?

It seems parents can't win these days , I'm sure i'd get a lot of horrible posts from people if I decided to take him and my 8 year old son in bars/restaurants at midnight/1am.
The reason he is taking it is because we won't be out very late in the evening due to my son being young.
He is a teenager, so we realistically cannot say 'right we're going back to the apartment now as it's getting fairly late, you'll have to go to sleep or twiddle your thumbs'!!
I really wouldn't take any notice yummymummy. Many people on here dont want to answer a straight question instead they want to tell you how to live your life. As you say they are the very same people who would moan if they were within 200 yards of a bored 16 year old. Also as you say change source is all done via the remote and you just change it back when you leave, people seem to be implying you need a screwdriver and a black & decker workmate.
To be fair Yummymummy your initial posts on this topic gave the impression that you weren't that keen on the idea of him taking it in the first place and that you quite liked the sound of fwh earlier replies!
Yes I did, but I meant that we wouldn't be stuck in the apartment during the day, that's why I didnt want him to take it a long. But seeing as he will be carrying it, and will be using it in the late evening, I can hardly blame him for wanting to bring it with him.
Each to their own. Hubby has taken his DVD player & films in the past as we don't always go out every night and like to watch a late film.
I am taking a few dvds to watch in the evenings when I get away. I don't often get evenings off or time to watch them, so have a few to watch.
