Specialist tour operator fails
A tour operator specialising in golf holidays to Turkey, Spain and Portugal has failed citing a 'sign of the times' as the reason.
The Civil Aviation Authority said on its website that Fairway Golf Holidays Limited based in west Sussex had ‘ceased trading with immediate effect', only days after another two travel companies collapsed.
It said passengers who had booked flight inclusive golf holidays to Turkey, Spain and Portugal, may be able to claim a refund.
Last week both Worldchoice member Wingjet Travel of Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire and East Anglia travel agency Global Travel Lounge went into insolvency.
Richard Fullerton, director of Fairway Golf Holidays, said that outstanding holidays were being given to their handling agents and supported by the Civil Aviation Authority.
"It's just a sign of the times," he said.
