Probably too late for you now but I beleive that the UK uses DAB whereas on the Continent they use the more modern DAB+. DAB radios cannot pick up DAB+. You can buy radios in the UK that will receive both but of course they are more expensive than just DAB.

A lot of portable DAB Radios can be set to scan Europe or UK so worth a check
