Shirley, there is a fantastic volumising mousse that I think would be fab for your hair if you are going to be blow drying it while in Corfu. It is from the James brown, photo finish range, it's just called volumising mousse. You use a small amount rubbed into the roots then blow dry, volume is instant and if you use the vo5 mega hold as a hairspray you will be zorba dancing all night!! :D

:tup Thanks Amanda, I will give it a go although I don't need good hair to keep me dancing all night - just give me an ouzo :rofl

I swear by argan oil - also when abroad I use bottled water for the final rinse when washing my hair x

I'm a bit confused about the VO5 volume boost and gel spray. Are they 2 different products ? Is the gel spray not for volume but just defrizzing like for example Frizz Ease ?

I bought the one that Glynis has shown a picture of on the previous page. VO5 gel spray mega hold. I spray it on the roots before blow drying and it does give volume and also texture. It did well in the Greek heat too :tup

Since I last posted to Shirley VO5 have changed the product slightly. It's still called Mega Hold but they've added 'Weather Resistant' Gel Spray. Looks the same though.

Thank you ladies. It's on my shopping list for today. Will give it a whirl ...but hopefully not a curl :tup

Update...it's on offer at Tesco. 70p off. So it cost me £2.08 and I got the Mega hold one.I looked in Superdrug beforehand and it was full price so result !

Good one Hbrac. Hope you like the results it gives.

Not bad. :tup It is light and holds well without the concrete feeling that you get from hairspray and I can tell it has given me volume although not specifically marketed as a volumiser. It makes your hair feel soft. The smell was very familiar and I was struggling to remember what it reminded me of .It smells very much like a Paul Mitchell product I used to use. Freeze and shine ? Mmm :think I haven't tried it in the damp /rain yet so that will be the test.

Since I've been back from Malta, my hair has been horrible - all flyaway and really difficult to style. Yesterday morning, while in the shower I put some VO5 hot oil on it, and instant success. It looks and feels so much better already. I'm going to use it before I go on my next hols, and will even pack some in the case, to use out there. You don't have to warm it anymore, and only need to leave it on for a minute. It gets my vote :tup

Thanks for that Helen :tup I have fine hair though so some products make it flat as they are too heavy.

I didn't find it heavy at all Glynis, and I left it on for the full minute.

Always :tup

I also swear by Argan oil, you think because it's an oil it would leave your hair really oily but it leaves it lovely, soft and shiny.

on the subject of great looking hair, what would you recommend to stop newly highlighted (bleached) hair turning a funny colour in the pool or the sun? i normally spray some No7 Glossy locks onto my hair whilst in and out of the pool or sea but I've never been abroad with newly highlighted hair before.

I'm having a few hilights for my son's wedding and they will still be pretty fresh when we go to Corfu 3 weeks later. Any suggestions on how to keep them looking good please?
