Can't find a thread on this but am sure lots of people have 'done' the desert/national parks this way. If you have do you have any advice/tips as we are trying to organise a 2 week tour before ending our holiday in Las Vegas.
How many days should we stay in LV....... would 5 nights be enough as we hope to do the day trip to Lake Mead while we're there?
Thanks for any help you can give to help us decide if this is the way to go!
On our last US trip we toured to several places starting and ending in Vegas. We had 4 nights first off and returned for 2 at the end. In all honesty we had seen enough first time round and wished we had stayed in San Francisco the extra nights.
Just all depends on what you want to do with your time I suppose
I so agree with you MilleMiglia We did exactly the same as you, four days in LV, 10 days in an RV, and then a two night stay back in Vegas! We wished we hadn't too! We hired the RV once we got to Vegas, as it was cheaper doing it that way, and we toured all round the national parks. It was a real shock to get back to Vegas I must admit, after all that wonderful scenery. I absolutely loved Vegas but if I had a chance to do the holiday again, I wouldn't split the time as I did do.
After long, hard deliberation we've opted to hire a 4X4 instead of an RV, & are touring around Arizona & into Utah & Nevada for 16 nights ending up with a 5 night stay in Vegas. One of those days will be out of town doing the lake Mead tour & I'm hoping 4 decent weather(May) to enjoy some time lounging at the pool.
Love it or hate Las Vegas has to be seen & it will be an experience.......CAN'T WAIT for this holiday!
So glad you're not going to split the holiday with a start and finish in Vegas!!! You'll have a fantastic time I just know it!!!
