My husband and I are looking to travel to the South of France in first 2 weeks of July 2012 with our folding camper. Does anyone have any idea what the costs would be for Rail Europe from Le Havre to Nice? We are trying to find out whether its cheaper by road or by rail?

I'm afraid I can't help with campsites but ..........
SNCF do very few Auto Trains (car carrying services) and you'd have to travel to Paris before taking one (http://autotrain.voyages-sncf.com/autotrain-webapp/pdf/common/Guide_Auto_Train.pdf?rfrr=Loisir%3ATrain%3AAutotrain%3AhomeControl_body_T%C3%A9l%C3%A9charger%20le%20guide%20Auto%20Train%20(PDF%2C%201%2C)
I suspect you'll have to drive to your destination. http://www.viamichelin.fr will help with costings and timings for your journey. I hope this helps a bit.

There are no motor rail trains anywhere in France any more.

Campsites there LOADS & LOADS there are lots of campsite search engines too the one I use after Camping Cheques and ACSI is Camping France This year instead of going down the Eastern route to L'Orange then on the A9 we are going to go via the A71/5 over the Millau Bridge.
