Have got a booking for tomorrow at one of their London hotels.
Got in a tangle making the booking and omitted an early check in.
OK, website says you can amend a flexible booking "without penalty". Tried last night and got "service unavailable". Tried to find a phone number, got nowhere. Well, got lots of options, and finally got cut off.
Tried again tonight....hurrah, service available, tick the box for a £10 early check in, next page tells me it will cost £26 :que
Nowhere on their website does it say there is a fee to change the booking.
Tried the phone again, (live chat closed 7pm, when I was still eating my dinner after a day at work), got through to somebody who told me to press option 3 to speak to the hotel.......did that, phone rang and rang, and I got cut off again.
Anybody know how their system works, please?

Well apparently although it says the booking can be amended "without penalty", instead of simply adding the £10 early check -in to the bill, it rebooks the room at whatever the flexible rate has changed to when you amend the booking :yikes

(we didn't amend our booking in the end, and lugged our overnight bags all round the Tower of London :rofl )

The hotel was fine since we didn't have great expectations of it anyway (KIngs Cross)

but I wish Travelodge would have a decent phone contact system. Particularly for if their are problems once you have left home, as not everybody has smart phones with web access.

Anybody wanting to book the Leeds Central Travelodge be warned. It is very noisy. Although there is a note about noise on the website we didn't realise that the rooms looked onto the railway line so every train that went through the station went through our rooms ! That coupled with the glass recycling bins being outside the windows made for a "challenging" stay. The only good thing though was that it was my daughter's Graduation !! Aaaahhh sniff sniff.

I didn't realise they where in financial difficulty, not worried even though I've got a booking with them next month.

We recently booked the one at Paisley Road in Glasgow, to stay over after the Roxette concert at the SECC .... after getting back from the concert, we decided just to head home around midnight .. honestly, i've never seen a bigger dump and Travelodge really do need a good foot up the backside!

Immediately got my money back, and cancelled the two i had booked en route to our french hols in November, and have vowed never to stay in one again.

I think Premier Inn are over-priced now, so there is room for a budget hotel brand, but there is not room for the sub-standard crap Travelodge are pushing right now. Instead of charging £19 for guff, charge £30-40 and make an effort!

Re the Leeds Central above, the shower head in my daughter's room was black with mould so she took a pic on her phone and sent it off when we got back. She got an e-voucher refund for the cost of the night but it needs to be used by January :que I can't understand what the cleaners are up to. To leave it to get into that state in the first place. All it needs is a clean when they do the bathroom. Infact annything mouldy should be attended to.

She has used the evoucher now for a stay at the Covent Garden Travelodge in the New Year. They are going to see a show too. Anybody stayed at the C.G Travelodge ? Any recommendations for places to eat ?

In regards to the stay mentioned earlier on this thread, I turned up in my booked travelodge, told that the booked rooms where no longer available and had to go to another travelodge 5/6 miles down the road. Quite annoying after a longish ferry crossing back from Ireland and the fact it was quite late, and annoying trying to hunt another travelodge after a long day. On the plus side at least they honoured our booking and sent us elsewhere, but still annoying after all I had booked in March.
