Cheap B and Bs or hotels in York

My boyfriend and I are planning a 3 night break to York for the end of July... we're just wondering if there are any very cheap B and Bs that someone can recommend? We're looking to spend up to £170 ish for the 3 nights but the less the better. I've noticed that hotels are a lot cheaper and nicer looking in Leeds, how easy would it be to get to York from Leeds? It's about 40 minutes to drive but what about parking?
