My family and I have just returned from an amazing holiday to El Quseir in Egypt. I have never visited the Middle East before and thought Egypt was all sandstorms and camels. I have to say, this holiday blew me away! Now I hope after reading about our adventure you guys will go off and give it a chance yourselves.

Having no knowledge of the Middle East we decided to use Mosaic Holidays (as our friends recommended them) as they cater to that region and offer “luxury” get aways. To be honest, the only reason we chose El Quesir was from the photos on the website alone (shallow I know) but I knew not to get my hopes up as many travel agents exaggerate. I was wrong. The place was BEAUTIFUL. The photos did not give it justice! The planes used by the company were very comfortable and the stewards were helpful and happy.. not what we expected at all having flown with EasyJet and RyanAir for the past few years! How have they managed to get away with it for so long??

When we landed it was hot. Super hot. Heat I had never felt before in my life. Luckily, the hotel Mosaic use was top class and had state of the art air conditioning (In October... it boggles the mind). We spent the first day lounging by the pools and I had a cheeky get away at the spa, much to the amusement of my husband. The second day we went on an arranged trip (part of the package) to the village itself and got to see all the architecture and do a bit of bazaar shopping. The people were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. I don’t think I ever ate so much lamb in my life! We were able to take a boat out and view the shoreline and learn about the old port that used to sit there. The kids were not that into the history but they loved jumping into the ocean looking for fish (well sharks if you were to believe my 5 year old son).

The whole holiday was a blast and I’m glad I took a gamble on the location.
