After holidaying in several places & islands we decided to buy in the Peloponnese. I note that on this forum little detail is given to the location so thought I would start:-

The main airports servicing the location are KALAMATA, PATRA & ATHENS. The former two located South & North in the Peloponnese and Athens being a two & half hour drive away, now via a new motorway. Low cost airlines from the UK use these airports, Easyjet to Kalamata & Athens, Ryanair to Patra.
Ferry services come in at Patra from Italy (Venice, Brindisi or Barri).

The resorts of STOUPA, AG NICKHOLAIS, FININKOUNDA, KORONI, METHONI & KIPARRISIA are the most popular, but there are many more locations with lots of private self catering accommodation. You will certainly always find somewhere easily........

It is a very low key location and hence probably best suited for those that want to totally chill out. Beaches are safe and again seldom get busy (with the exception of Stoupa around August time). Most of the coast line is totally unspoilt and offers miles and miles of open sand..........often you will see only a couple of other locals on the beach if you drive out of the named holiday locations.

For those not wanting beach holidays the Taygetos mountains offer an exciting change, or perhaps a visit to Olympia (birthplace of the Olympics), a winery or olive press? You may consider historic places like Kalavrita, Sparti, Monemvassia , Naplio, or Corinth.
