Most places open for Easter and so I would expect the Old Town to be quite busy by May. It's a lovely time to go as there won't be crowds around, but plenty of people to give a good atmosphere. Also, the weather should be very pleasant - warm enough to sunbathe in sheltered spots, but take something with sleeves for the evenings as the temperature drops after dark!

The good thing about Albuferia is that it has a large resident population that are there all year round so it isn't just a holiday resort, making it suitable to visit out of peak times.

been to Albuferia all times of the year, the old town has always had a bit of a buzz but the strip seems to close down in winter months, May should be fine as the main season is getting going
