What type of places do you like, and what do you like to do?

We are really flexible but not looking for an activity type holiday. The most activity would be walking :). We love walking and sitting by water.

walking and sitting by water,,,, the Lake district maybe. Sure to be some good hotels around there.
Or maybe somewhere near a Loch in Scotland

Also, the same company that runs the Orient Express do luxury train holidays around Scotland. During the summer one of their trains is parked up in Dundee in the late afternoon most Mondays and I eye them enviously when I see them sitting down to afternoon tea when I'm on my way home from work.

None of the above are cheap but they are special and any of them could be a good alternative to your original plans for a trip on the Orient Express and I can't see that any of them that it would be a problem taking your baby with you.
