I saw somewhere else over the weekend to make sure that your travel insurance covers you for the trips you want to do whilst on holiday. I'd not considered this before - when we went to Gran Canaria we just went off to Aqualand without thinking if our insurance covered us.
We only want to do the Camel Caravan (I think the jaunt on the camel lasts about an hour 90mins tops) whilst in Tunisia nothing else at all. I normally do a search for holiday insurance through moneysupermarket and get a good/cheap quote from there. But now I am flapping about what I should do/who to get cover from. Will it be okay to get one of the basic cheap covers that we normally go for do you think? We're going on Sunday (myself and sons aged 14 & 17) so need to get insurance ASAP.
Any advice please?
you will have to ask your selected provider if and how much it cost to cover,the main aim is that people do whats considered dangerous activities on holidays [bungee jumps,climbing,paragliding, hire motorcycles/quads and the like] Just bear in mind if you like a drink, if you have any accidents and have had just one drink most policies will not pay out even if you trip on the kerb crossing the road

Oh right okay so when I've got a quote that I like I need to ring them to see of it covers a camel ride? I've never even considered it before I've just paid for insurance. Yikes.
To be on the safe side I would mention it. I'm sure there was an incident regarding insurance and camel rides on the forum. Will take a look and see if I can find it

Arghh having a nightmare with Thomas Cook (holiday booked through them) they state that their cover includes camel riding if you follow the guidelines in the policy. The policy states that appropriate safety equipment must be worn. Well I know for certain as a friend on facebook did the exact excursion, that safety equipment is not provided. All the camels are tied together in a line and the Tunisian men walk beside the camels. Thomas Cook cannot tell me if their insurance would be invalid if there was an accident if safety equipment was not worn if thought it is an excursion that is bought through their reps in the hotel
