I can't edit so just to add- its also very confusing to find two other threads you have started with the same query. Perhaps a mod can combine them?

So in other words you made an assumption about what the facilities would be becasue it was called a 'junior suite' rather than because TC told you that in a junior suite at this hotel you would get a lounge, separate bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a jacuzzi? I wouldn't have thought that 'junior suite' denoted a universal standard across all countries. I think that it highlights that you need to confirm exactly what facilities you are booking before committing yourself. I can understand why you are disappointed at not getting what you expected but I can't see that you have proof that what you are getting is not what you booked and paid for unless you have documentation that specifies what the room facilities are.

I am desperate, trying to get info / advise from other mislead customers.

Would be great for a moderator to combine.

Trading Standards have said that the Tour Operator are (under the trade description act 1982) obliged to supply us with that we have paid for.

Customer relations only deal with post travel complaints, branch telling us there is nothing they can do, I really need to find a lovely person with a direct dial number to a TC director (LOL) AAAAAHHHHH

I made no assumptions at all. (to assume is to make an ASSoutofUandME one of the little phrases they taught us in school LOL)

Once quoted a junior Suite, I looked up the full details on the hotel and trip adviser and many other sites before parting with my hard earned cash. TC say "we do not have a full room description as there is limited space on our screens but you can get precise information by contacting the hotel directly"

But having looked as you suggested at the hotel's own website it doesn't seem to include any information on the facilities of each room/suite type which is why I asked for a link to where you had been led to believe that you would be getting something different to what TC and the hotel have booked you in to. Unless you can prove that TC told you that a junior suite included a lounge, separate bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a jacuzzi you won't get anywhere with your complaint.

Trading Standards are quite right but 1st you have to prove exactly what it is that you paid for. In other words you have to prove that TC told you that a junior suite comprised a lounge, separate bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a jacuzzi. It doesn't matter what you believe a junior suite should contain or what other websites say is included in a junior suite. You have to prove that TC is not delivering what it promised and if it didn't promise these specific facilities then you can't prove that they have mislead you or mis-sold this holiday.

If TC never said that a junior suite at this hotel contains those facilities then they haven't mislead you or mis-sold the holiday. As Fiona has pointed out, the term 'junior suite' is commonly used to refer to a room that is larger than a standard one that contains a seating area and that seems to be exactly what you have got.

Who told you that your junior suite would have "separate lounge, 2 bathrooms and jacuzzi whirlpool bath in main bedroom!!!!!" ?
Thomas Cook make no mention of it in their brochures or on their website, that I can see.

Please provide a link to where you found that information.

In many hotels Junior Suites are just a standard room, but larger. A Suite or Family Suite is more likely to provide the facilities you've listed.

Just to add, if Thomas Cook didn't tell you those facilities were available they have done nothing wrong.

<<.my argument is that the term "Junior Suite" is a universal term for a high quality room...........>>

The last hotel I stayed in, the basic room type was a Junior Suite. One large room with a split level sitting area.

On the Thomas Cook website when doing a dummy booking it states quite clearly that the junior suite contains a double bed, single bed and a sofa bed. It does not have a separate lounge, 2 bathrooms etc etc.

I have often booked a junior suite that is in fact the lowest grade room available. Those rooms were just one room, no separate lounge etc e.g. The Royal Playa Del Carmen in Mexico.

Did you pay an upgrade of several hundred pounds for this room?

There is a review for Royal Alambra Palace on Tripadvisor which states they had a Duplex room and described as having 2 single beds downstairs, 1 King bed upstairs, 2 bathrooms however, this room was placed at the back of the hotel and no view.
