While on our annual visit to Greece this year (Tilos) we spoke to a number of Scandinavians who spoke highly of Leros. We decided to see for ourselves. We have just returned and were not disappointed. Its well connected daily with Kos or you can fly from Athens. We are surprised its not more popular with Brits. Its quite like many of the islands were 20 years ago. Not spoilt by mass tourism or endless shops selling tat. We found the majority of restaurants to be of high quality. A very interesting island with a traumatic 2nd world war history.
I prefer an island that isn't popular with British tourists. I like to meet foreign people and the Germans and Swedes demand better food and drink than us.
I do not want Watneys Red Barrel, tea like mother makes or roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
