at this late stage statins are normally recommended to keep the system working

Just ordered a new dishwasher its an integrated one its a Beko which isnt a top of the range but neither was my previous one which was a Baumatic which lasted 7 years I doubt if the more expensive ones would last twice as long. I use Finish powerball tabs occaisional rinse aid dont bother with dishwasher salt. a lot depends whether you are in a hard or soft water area however read the manufacturers instructions and follow the advice.
I used to frown upon the use of dishwashers but I wouldnt be without one now. :tup

:cheers Many thanks for your good wishes, Jim! I am sure we will be very happy together.

Nick, I have bought a Beko too! Hope it lasts as long as your last one. Think I may take up a hobby with all the spare time I will have now! :)

That's a shame because Doc just took him off them!

We use the Aldi Magnum ones as they are cheap and recommended highly by Which.

:tup Thanks for that Corinne...I do shop at Aldinfor some things but wasn't sure how good they would be as I am not keen on their washing up liquid!
Will give them a go.

I usually wait until the Fairy ones are on offer and they often are in Tesco

Thanks, Denny! Will keep an eye out for offers ...... This is new to me and I feel like I'm back having to learn about household basics again!

I like the Fairy ones too, although the packs have been getting smaller and smaller while the price stays the same or rises.
I always look out for special offers too...NEVER buy them at full price ;)

A few months ago I got a HUGE pack at the Range, I think they were catering packs, 100 tablets for £9.99, but it was probably a one-off job lot.

I never found the Finish ones were worth all the hype
but I'd be interested to see what others like.....might have to try the Aldi ones :tup

:) Thanks, Acorn!

The little darling has been delivered and is now up and working! It came with a small supply of Finish tablets but I will check out alternatives. Think I will go with offers until I find which suit me.

First attempt at using it ended up with me, apparently, putting it on a nine hour delay! Got that sorted just as my tumble dryer decided to have a nervous breakdown! Jealousy methinks!

Our local Morrisons had, I'm sure it was Finish, on offer yesterday. They were in the entrance, but have forgotten how much they were :duh

Thanks, Glynis!

I noticed in Asda yesterday that they had Finish lemon - 20 pack for £4 and 30 pack for £12! !!!! Am sure that was a mistake! :think

Being in the retail trade I bought up a box of Finish quantum when they were on a good offer , they work really well but are stupidly expensive at RRP
If any of you have a Nisa store near to you ( mostly up north , but some in the south ) they have Fairy tablets 34 packs at £ 11.99 which is expensive but they are buy ONE get TWO free , so 4 quid a pack

Seems strange that blokes know a bit about DW, perhaps because it is our job to fill em and empty em :D

Just checked Tesco online and they have Finish Lemon 78 for £10, half price :tup. Valid until 12/2/14

Hopefully, link will still work for you:-

I have the same problem with the washing machine ;) Pleading ignorance at what temperature / spin etc domestic appliances are just sooo confusing :D Don't get me started on irons spitting out steam and water , best left to the experts who can handle them ;)

My husband has always said he hopes he dies before me(such a cheerful chap!!!!!) because he doesn't know where to put the petrol in the cooker, washing machine, hoover etc. :think :rofl

You know as soon as you said
One for the ladies - methinks!
every male on here was drawn to it like a magnet :D

We have used either Fairy or Finish since we got our Bosch dishwasher and they have been fine, not the cheapest, however being a canny Scot we always look for the offers ;)

Now being this canny Scot that I mentioned we had an apartment when on holiday in Spain last year and we did most of our shopping in Lidl as it was just over the road and their dishwasher tablets were excellent, not having a Lidl close we have since used the ones from our local Aldi which are just as good as the premium brands and only cost £3.99 for 40 tablets :tup
Graham the canny domestic god :rofl
ps
Don't get me started on irons spitting out steam and water

Steam Generators are the way forward as long as you have a decent board.
