We booked flights with Thomson (paying in full) last year for our family. Unfortunately our business has suffered a serious knock and we can't afford to go now. Obviously we're very upset

I don't know where we stand. I don't particularly want to lose out on the money we paid for flights (4 adults and 1 child long haul, so not cheap at all) but I really don't know what to do.
I'm happy to postpone for a year to see if things have looked up, but all of my research suggests that Thomson aren't going to let me do this, but it isn't clear from their T&Cs.
Has anyone experienced this before, or works for Thomson and could advise me please? I do have travel insurance but I can't imagine it's going to cover me for business being poor.
Thanks so much in advance.
