Our first attempt to walk to the marina from the Imperial Marhaba hotel was down the main road. After walking for about 45 mins. - top speed for my legs! - 'sir' decided we must have gone wrong so we returned, hot and weary, to the hotel!
The next day, himself decides we will try the beach walk! An hour along the edge of the sea and we arrive at a rather disappointing sea wall with no view of what I considered to look like a marina! We did not realise that we had missed the path off the beach direct to the marina! So we set off on the return journey along the beach!
Another hour and a half later we reach the hotel - by now my ankle looks like a fully inflated blimp and I can't decide whether to cry or try to work up the energy to kill 'Sir'!
Not being one to admit defeat, 'Sir' suggests we try the road again the next day! So we do and finally reach the marina!! after a well deserved pint (or two!) we find the path back to the beach but, discretion being the better part of valour, decide on a taxi!
Now we know where we are aiming for, it is decided (!) that we will do the walk again along the beach. It still took an hour as I don't walk very fast but we got there! Having chilled for while with a beer and a snack we decide to return by caleche and I did enjoy posing with my parasol - so much so that we did it again on our last day!
I have to say that I am glad 'Sir' didn't want to walk so far every day - managed short walks on other days - but it was worth it in the end!
haha have done something along that line myself left golf residence to go to a bar in marina had been many times before but by feck could i find it not a chance after the 3rd day i realised i had been walking by it ,it had flowers growing up around the doorway and just never noticed haha
It is a nice walk down the beach and through that little residential area with the Dovecotes, the first time we went to PEK was August and we were absolutely knackered by the time we got in to the marina
