Got to East Midlands today for a two week holiday with the wife and flight for Lanzarote was showing no problem then after abit it shown it was delayed for 2 hours.. A hour later it shown it was cancelled and we had to go through passport control to get bags back and go to check in desk to see what had happened.
Due to French air traffic control strike it had been cancelled yet other flights were going to Spain and France.
Anyway gave me Ryanair number to phone and to either get a refund or get another flight , so phoned them when l got home and have booked for a next flight available which is on Saturday hoping this time we may get to Lanzarote, but by then we have lost 4 nights in our apartment.
So never being through this before who do l claim for compensation for loss of nights in the apartment and taxis to and from the airport..
We do have travel insurance , so who do we make a claim to .. Travel insurance or Ryanair and if l do make it to Lanzarote on Saturday do l get the apartment to write me a receipt out for how much it would cost for the loss of the 4 nights lost.. Help and advice would be very helpful.

It's very annoying , and we fly on Sunday to Lanzarote with BA , even though we're staying in a villa I booked a package with them ( just not using the package accommodation ) I need to look at what protection I will get if the problem carries on , hopefully by the weekend there will be no problems .
