Its been a couple of years since my last visit. We were there in April and lots of places had begun to close, despite it being the Easter break. It was still a great holiday! I am seeing more and more people saying that the trip they did this year would be their last. Of course there was a big currency problem where, overnight in November, the 500 and 1000 rupees were withdrawn. Many weeks of queuing for cash and trying to find ATMs with any money ensued. Things are almost back to normal now though.
Have you holidayed in Goa this season? Will you be returning?
Have never really been back anywhere twice ( with the exception of Florida when kids were smaller ) now returning to goa for our 3rd visit and still just as excited as our 1st ..
I went in the earlier days, but I would love to know what is it that draws people back there again and again..
MC
stream26- are you off to Goa soon?
We think we might return next year.
MC- I dont know what it is about Goa. I tend to go on holidays where we are out and about exploring( and we do usually have some relaxation time) When it comes to Goa though, I seem to go into a trance and can't get away from the beach and the shacks. Usually don't leave the beach till the sun has gone down. We have found a lovely little hotel- 2 mins from the beach. We love the food. We do meet up with people there. Its a real destressing holiday- even the time when my husband got stuck out in the north sea and we ended up only having 5 days in Goa, and to top it all- the suitcases didn't make the trip! Even that was a good holiday :)

Nowhere really stays completely the same as time does change things. However the things that draw me back are the kindness and smiles of the Goan people, the amazing food, weather, beaches and places to visit....these things will still be the same!!
I've never been to Goa as never really fancied it although friends who have been have loved it.
I would image though the colours & aromas of the spice markets would appeal to me 👍
Where are you staying Lisa?
Would like to return, but need to brace myself for the airport and the visa.
There are less flights now, and trying to get the dates to tie up with work have been a bit of a problem.
Ah the visa issue, I remember lots of threads about visas 😱
SeaMist in candolim
apparently the "e-visa" is meant to be simpler....we'll see lol
I just can't get to Goa again next year. My holidays don't tie in with his rota. Would love to get back though.
my previous 2 visits were with my Ex, and been with my partner 7 years now and taken me this long to persuade him to go...I just know he'll love it ...:-D
I didn't notice your post about where you are staying. Candolim will have changed but it is full of great restaurants and bars!
Changed how? Busier and more buildings etc? Hope it's still recognizable.....
I am sure you will recognise it!
