Tourism officials for the Balearic Islands are calling for a ban on alcohol on flights to and from the islands to crack down on bad behaviour by holidaymakers.
General manager for tourism Pilar Carbonell is asking the Spanish Government and the European Commission to ban booze from flights and airports.

Wouldn't it be better to concentrate upon what actually happens once they arrive? What about a minimum price for alcohol- concentrating upon the price of shots.
That looks like a knee-jerk reaction. Boozed up passengers should be refused boarding and airlines should keep a close eye on what passengers are drinking, but a glass of wine or beer (or even a couple) should cause no problems. I will never understand why passengers want to spend time getting drunk before their flight, or see how much alcohol they can get through once on board.
