I booked a holiday with Love Holidays last month and paid a low deposit.
I rang last week to change the dates on the holiday and was advised that my airline do not charge a fee to change flight dates, they just charge the difference in the flights.
I asked whether it would work out better for me finanically to cancel the holiday for £225 than it would to book new flights, I was advised "probably not, no".
I'm not the best with numbers and so, when the adviser on the phone started throwing different numbers "plus this and minus that" on the booking, I asked for exact clarification for a total overall amount that the holiday amount would changed by. I was advised £80.
We made the decision to cancel accommodation through LoveHolidays after advice from the adviser to "try another company" as she wouldn't give me a total overall cost for the holiday incl flights and accommodation.
Reason being? Once I hung up the phone and checked my booking online, my holiday which for flights + accommodation was due to cost £650 was now £697.... just for flights.
Rang up the next day to query and explain I didn't feel this was clear and was advised I'd receive a call back from a manager. It's been 9 days and have just spoken to someone after ringing for the fourth time who says a manager has decided the decision will stand and I was clearly advised (I still feel that I wasn't).
I've been refused the opportunity to speak to the manager who made the decision and have been told I can have a copy of the phone call (if I pay) but they won't change their mind. Despite the advisers I've spoken to agreeing that the difference in price is insane.
I can book the SAME flights on the SAME day for £100pp, yet I'm expected to pay £350pp?
So far I've paid £150 on the holiday and am due to pay £110 a month until August. I've currently cancelled any outgoing payments to the company via my bank until this dispute has been solved and have advised Love Holidays of this and to be honest, I'm at the point where I refuse to pay a single penny more to them.
Has anyone had a similar situation/not paid the final balance of a holiday?

Which airline are you flying with as I'm sure most airlines will charge an amendment fee plus any increase in flight price?
What was your original booking, flight, number of nights, accommodation, & for how many people?
What are they charging you now just for flight?
I am having a similar experience and have also blocked any further payments to Love Holidays. I wish I had googled them before booking with them.
