I know how annoying that is. It's one reason I don't take holiday flights from my nearest airport- Aberdeen. They put the flights up for sale and then months later they haven't sold enough seats and so it's cancelled and flights are offered from Glasgow instead. You either take that with all the inconvenience or you book something else which is now a lot dearer.

We use either Newcastle Airport, or Leeds. For £500 difference I'd probably have flown from Manchester. I'd be annoyed at the inconvenience though.

Not worth it when you got to change trains at York and book a hotel as well
