Hi all
we are shaun and sue both 42 from york. We are thinking of moving to southern costa blanca in the future if things work out,(and i find another job afer being made redundant!!) and would like some advise.
We have been doing lots of research on the internet, with estate agents, etc but want more if possible. especially on the santa pola and gran alacant areas which appeal to us.
we wouldnt want to be in the middle of a british colony but dont want 100% spanish also. We hated Torrieveca area when we were last there.
look forward to your comments
xx
We have a house between Dolores and Catral which is 15 minutes drive inland from the resort of Guardamar. The area is mainly agricultural which is seeing gradual but controlled developments. Most buyers are Brits so there are familiar voices around but the area still retains its Spanish character.
Gran Alicant and Santa Pola are holiday resorts and the development is more concentrated and your money does not go as far as in the campo.
We dealt directly with a builder based in Dolores and feel we got very good value for money.
I would be happy to share our non too traumatic experience if you want to send a PM.
Regards,
Jim
