After much web searching and price busting, I've finally gone and done it and booked our hols to Poland.I haven't been since 1991 so I am quite excited and so is hubby..he is looking forward to loads of cabbage and beetroot!!!
I have done it as a DIY, so we are flying to Warsaw with Easyjet and flying back with Easyjet from Krakow. We are staying for 3 nights at the Polonia Palace Hotel in Warsaw, 3 nights at the Hotel Atrium in Krakow and 3 nights in Zakopane at the Czarny Potok Pension followed by another night at the Atrium. We are going mid July so the weather should be good.Has anyone stayed at these hotels or done something similar, any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!
We love Poland, have went the last two years, 1st year we went to were you are going but did not stay in those hotels. Stayed in Krakow which we loved except our hotel was not in the centre and even although we are walkers had to get a taxi. It is hard to pinpoint the highlights because we loved there but if you want to ask anything I will try and answer. We stayed in Karkow, Warsaw but only visited Zakopane. We will go back hopefully before it gets too popular.
There seems to be more and more info on the web and my friend who's just come back from Krakow from her 2nd visit there, has come back with some good local tourist guides too. She says Poland is becoming more and more popular with the Brits, in fact, Krakow is probably turning into the new Prague as we speak or type!!!! Which has its good and bad points.....Poland is definitely on the American "let's go round Eastern Europe trail" so people speaking English is not a problem....I speak fluent Polish as it is so I should have an advantage!
