Menorca has to be the most perfect place for families of all ages. We stayed at Son Bou first time, then Calan Bosch and then Cala Forcat and we would gladly return to any of them. Our kids range from 8 to 19 and they all love it. Over time we have visited almost every part and again, nothing disappointed us. Its pretty perfect for a family holiday!

without a doubt Milanos Pinguinos in Son Bou. Been 3 times and going back again in July. It has the biggest and arguably on of the best beaches on the island with safe supervised bathing and lots of beach bars. The resort is clean and friendly and enough to do and see but not overcrowded or loud.

Milanos Pinguinos, again is clean and well presented with many facilities ideal for either couples or families with young children. Go half board and the food is plentiful varied and excellent. Can't go wrong.

well my favourite hotel is the Almirante Farragut in Cala n Forcat - but the resort is not my favourite!! The hotel is far enough away from the main street for it not to be a problem though.

The customer service at the Almirante is wonderful. I could not recommend it highly enough. We have had some fantastic holidays there.

My favourite resort is probably Santo Tomas.

The nice thing about menorca is it is so small - you can visit all your favourite resorts from wherever you are staying!

Have just returned from Mallorca - Santa Ponsa and had a brilliant time. Now looking for next year and fancy Menorca. Can anyone recommend a resort for myself, husband and a lively 6 year old.

We want to go self catering and would like a resort with a nice beach, some nice restaurants and something going on in the evening for kids. We would be hiring a car out there so we can see the island - I know it will be a lot quieter than Mallorca but I dont want to stay in a one horse town! Also is there a water park anywhere in Menorca?

Any recommendations??

Hi Carmel :D

If you don't want a resort which is too quiet, don't choose Santo Tomas!
I loved it there as it was so peaceful but I think you'd find it too quiet.

We had a great day out at one of the water parks....

We have just returned from Menorca last week, from Son Bou. Great beach, a couple of watershoots (!!) a maze which is worth the time, restaurants etc.

Really nice for all the family.

We went to Son parc last year, and although is was nice it is quieter. I believe that they are expanding the resort though.

I would say cala bosch or cala n forcat - both have various things going on including a waterpark!

I have to agree with Kristell, cala n bosch of cala n forcat, both are great and both have water parks, but cala n bosch is my favourite over all. Its a little more up market (?) than forcat but both are good!!

I agree about Cala'n Bosch but forget Cala'n Forcat if a nice beach is important to you. It's tiny.

Cala n Bosch is the most nicest resort to stay in Menorca , its clean , safe , freindly , and has something for everyone thier is a waterpark for children plus a attraction place called Goodie Goddie , a lovely marina that has lovely restuarants surrounding it , 2 great beaches the Cala n Bosch Beach and the Son Xoriguer beach is also very nice and has many watersports going on .

Cala n Bosch is definatly the best place to stay in Menorca and one of the best places to stay in the balerics . 10/10 :D :D

Hi , we stayed in Son Bou a few years ago at a complex called the San Jaime. We were with First Choice but i have a feeling it's changed hands now. it is a few minutes walk from the beach in Son Bou, and has entertainment on in the 'square' every evening, ideal for kids. It also had an underground disco, for teenagers (I think they had to be 16 or over) and it was safe, they felt grown up, but you knew where thy were. Hope this helps?

Hi, I worked as a kids rep in son parc for the summer 2005 and visited quite alot of the island so thought i would share with you all my personal favourites! As I worked there I loved son Parc (i worked at the confortel sol parc) and it's a great place....but remember that the sol parc is a 2 star complex and thats exactly what you get!! Its the kinda place u either really love or really hate as it's pretty quiet but perfect for families with young children as their is alot of shade, free bouncy castles and an amazing kids club (hehe im not biased at all)! The beach is stunning and if you go to son parc pay a visit to Wilsons bar....it's run by Carlos n Eve, 2 of the nicest people you'll ever meet! If you're looking for a lively holiday holiday then it isnt for you, but Son Parc has a very personal feel about it, you get to know everyone and people who hate it when they arrive often love it by the time they leave because the staff and guests tend to all be out in the eveings and everyone is extremely friendly...........i miss it and often wish I was back there rather than in England hehe! :O) Apologies to all those who had to see us kids reps a little worse for wear in wilsons funky chicken club, many of the parents had a good laugh when leaving their kids with us first thing in the morning whilst they went to recover!!!!

If your looking for a holiday with british bars and pubs and more nightlife then you want to head to Calan' Forcat which is the very touristy part of the island and personally i find it a little to touristy for my taste but great for a day!

Cala Galdana is beautiful and if was going to work in Menorca again I would request to work here, it has the right mixture of shops and niughtlife but its not to touristy or busy! The beach is lovely and i always found there was a good atmosphere around the resort!

Punta Prima is nice but I would say it's suited more for an older couple who want a relaxing holiday....again I found it nice for a day bujt dont think i would like to holiday there!

Arenel is lovely and only about 15 minutes away from Son Parc, its got quiet a few bars and a beautiful bay....the Irish bar is a good place to go for a fun night!

Menorca is a lovely Island wherever you stay, if you can hire out a car!
