Hi has anyone ever stayed at this hotel before? I so what's it like?
I have booked a room with a seaview, does this mean that it will be in the antillas block? Ive heard its nicer and that some os the rooms on the upper floors have been recently redecorated, is this right?
Also how far away is it from the main nightlife in magaluf?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks x

We stayed at the Antillas regularly before we moved over here to live, and I still think it's the best Hotel in Maggaluf. It is a little away from the main street, but we saw that as an advantage, since you had less noise in the streets around the Hotel, and in truth it's only a few minutes walk to a selection of good bars.
A little tip that normally takes visitors to the Hotel a few days to work out is that it's at the top of a slight incline of about 500 / 600 metres, but you will find that by walking down the steps to the beach and then along the sea front just about halves the distance!
I haven't been there since they did the refurb, but I actually had a couple of lads in the bar this morning who were staying there, and they were delighted with it.
There isn't a lot of "Night Life" in the immediate vicinity, but there are a few "quiettish" bars on the way into the centre of Magalluf, and then Mano's, Piano Bar, Jokers, Benny Hill's (Goodfellows ) are a few minutes further, BCM is another couple of minutes walk, and then maybe another 5 minutes and you are into the mayhem of the Punta Balena and all the 6am Night Clubs.
You are far enough away - yet near enough - if you know what I mean!
I'm sure you've made a good choice and will enjoy it.

given the number of trees in the way i wonder if it is really sea view ONLY..i,e. trees obscure beach view....
I am going again for a girly weekend in june and we are staying at the sol antillas in magaluf, however i went to see it (by taxi) while i was over there and i thought that it seemed quite a distance from the pubs/clubs etc, does anyone else think so? (it was hard for me to judge because i was in a taxi).
I think id prefer to be closer to the other side of magaluf so has anyone got any suggestions that i could change my booking to? must be on, or at least close, to a beach! the hotel tobago looked like it would be nice with great views, has anyone stayed here?
thanks in advance for any info provided!
Its a fair walk from the "strip", but there are plenty of other bars down that end of Magaluff too. There are Manos, Britannia, Piano bar, Benny Hills, Goodfellows, BCM to name a few, and I think prices are fairer that end than up towards the strip. Tobago is certainly nearer the strip, but if its bars you want, there are plenty near Antillas. However if its loads of the mega falling down water, noise and crowds you are after, you might be better changing your booking. Personally, I'd stay at Antillas.
Thanks for the info, we've decided we're going to stay at the antillas now. really looking forward to it! It looks like a lovely hotel. if we think its too far to walk to pubs then we'll just get a taxi!
could anyone tell me if the sol Antillas in magalluf has been fully renovated yet? i am due to go there in august and reading the reviews, many people stated that only the top few floors had been done. thanks all.
there was a review on tripadvisor saying all but the bottom 3 floors are done......
thanks for your reply, i will make sure i get a higher floor than the third!!
Ill post a review as soon as i come back so keep a look out for it!
thats good to know you will be there just shortly before me. i will look out for all the lowdown on the good and not so good places to go.
i have booked to go ther in mid june with a sea view? it didnt mention in the airtours website about renovations? shud i b worried?

Hope you have a great holiday too.
lorraine2000, i have never been majorca nor magaluf before, we (my girlfriend and I) wanted something lively but not too lively (like 28-30s holidays). i understand magaluf is clubby, but is the Sol Antillas in a quieter region? but not too away from the bars?
Thanks for the information. i am looking forward to going to in june,
Daniel
The hotel is about a five minute walk to to all the main bars and bcm is close by too. Theres lots of bars, clubs & restaurants, etc to choose from in magaluf.
You also have the option of going into palmanova if you fancy a quiet night, if you do then go to the mexican restaurant, it's great! Palmanova also has golf fantasia if you like crazy golf, i hate it but my boyfriend loved it!
The hotel is right on the beach and the pool is quite big and looked lovely! Magaluf has something for everyone and the nightlife is great! Dont worry, you'll have a fab time!
is it too close to the bars and clubs? i mean can you hear the noise when act hotel at nite? how far is palmanova? are the taxis really cheap?
yea i hope we do enjoy it, just got my passport back, so am looking forward to it now, i am a university student and currently have exams, so will be nice to relax and enjoy the holiday.
thanks for your help..
Please dont worry about the hotel's location, it's far enough away from the pubs and clubs so that you wont hear any noise (at least a 5-10 minute walk), but close enough if you fancy a good night out! It's definately in what you would call the quieter end of magaluf, so dont worry!
Also i've stayed at sol hotels loads of times and i've never had any complaints with them, have you seen the website? http://www.solmelia.com
There's loads of pubs within walking distance to suit all taste's so you can have as wild or as quiet a night as you like.
If you wanted to go to palmanova you could walk (15-20 minutes) or you could get a taxi for a few euros, not expensive.
You'll both have a great time! Good luck with the exams!
