Aghios on Crete is certainly nice, and lovely tavernas around the quiet bay
The post about Lindos is also accurate, its lovely, and completely pedestrianised... unfortunately most of the pedestrians are English holidaymakers and its a bit crowded lol.
Thanks for the comment about Santorini, I'm going to look into that one for my own honeymoon in July
Hi, have been to halkidki, i'm afraid its not as dreamy as it may sound, we travelled around quite a bit during our two weeks, and allthough there nice places,we would not return, take a look at zante, this is a beautiful island but dont stay at lagana or zante town
Try Afitos this is a lovely little town & would be lovely for a honeymoon.Airtours & Thomson both go there that I am aware of.
ive been to Sani in Halkidiki twice.. there's the Sani beach hotel, sani beach club, and some really posh places called the Sani something village.. they all run across a beach and have a harbour with plenty of bars and restuarants. the resort is quite secluded. but if your're looking for a relaxing honeymoon in a lovely and relaxing place (espeicially the club or the village) i think would be really good!
can anyone tell me anything about this hotel, i am going on the 26 may.
We stayed at the Sani Beach Hotel about 3 years ago at the same time of the year. The weather was better our 2nd week, the first week was ok but we did have a couple of days rain - it didn't spoil our holiday. The hotel is lovely with fab views, beach and pool area are really nice. We had a room for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and had bunk beds which were really good quality, the room was a little small but decorated beautifully with good quality furniture. The food at this hotel is very good. I won't bore you rigid!! if you want any more info just let me know.

We are also staying at this hotel on 30th June. Please post a review when you get back as no-one seems to know much and have posted a review about it.
We have just had an email from the hotel to say that we could upgrade from a double room seaview to a junior suite seaview for an extra £60 for the week so we have decided to go for it.
Have you gone through a brochure or booked direct. We booked our flights and hotel independently and saved ourselves a whopping £600 for the week compared to Thomsons. It just shows you how the tour operators made their money.
Tell us how the weather is over there.
Hope you have a nice time.
Gail
as gail says there isnt much info on this so please feel free to bore away.
i booked with first choice which was about 600 cheaper than thomson. booked the seaview direct though as the tour operators charge for 2 kids also for seaviews!!!!!
cant wait ...2weeks to go
does anyone know how long the transfer is from airport to atos palace hotel, kalithea? thanks
I would guess your transfer time will be about an hour but it will largely depend on how many other drops there are before yours. We travelled through Kalithea on the way to Hanioti, which is further down the east coast of the peninsula, earlier this year. We had been travelling for about an hour and a quarter but this included a detour to Sani Beach on the west coast which put at least 20 minutes on the journey.
be sure when out there to hire a bike, or car and see the penisular it is great. I stayed in Polycronino it is lovely.
I stayed in Polycronino it is lovely.
so did we Chris - I really enjoyed it. It was a great place to unwind.
Going to Hanioti this week has anyone been recently and could you recommend any good restaurants and bars
Also look out for both The Hot Goblin shops. One does fantastic jacket potatoes (massive) and the other tasty fish and chips if you're missing your traditional english scran. If you want a traditional english breakfast try The Old Tavern. We found them to be the best.
As for good bars, we were staying at The Hotel Angelo so usually started the night in Waikikis. Our favourites around the square were Long Island, Kelfos and The Sunshine Bar but we generally just when in the one that looked the busiest.
Hope this has been some help but I'm sure you'll find your own favourites. You can't really go wrong!

does anyone know what the weather will be like, we are hoping to go to the Oceania club for 2 weeks on 16/9/06 thanks
Have been in Halkidiki Sept this year for 2 weeks and likewise, 2 years ago. Weather was great. No rain 2 years ago and one evening a down pour this year. Its a beautiful time to go. All the hoteliers and restauranteurs love this time too. PM me for more info
We went to Halikidiki in Sept 2 years ago (I think it was the 2nd & 3rd weeks) and we had one overcast day, 1 afternoon/evening where it tossed it down and the rest of the time it was gorgeous.
thanks for your help, we are going to book direct with the hotel today.
I've heard there are lots of wasps in the sani hotels. Is this true? Which hotel is best for kids 4yrs. Sani beach or club/ Thanks
