I'd be appreciative for some info to get dialed in on planning a trip to visit historic WWII sites, especially in France & Germany.
I'd like to consider either; self guided, or more preferably a guided tour that includes transportation ect.
Any well run tours?
We lost several relatives both on our Brit and American side.
We've visited the brutal Pacific sites, now it's on to Europe.
I was fortunate to visit Normandy on the 49th aniv of the invasion, but no furthur East. It was then back to the UK, where an Aunt gave us a super tour of where my dads bomber crew flew out of & places they hung out at.
Thanks and any insite, tips or recomendations are appreciated.
Very moving and thought provoking
the Museum at Arromanches is very good as is the one at bayeaux
Moving into Holland Arhem and the area surround is a must see ( this is not meant to sound to jovial)
as it is the scene of one ofthe most famous actions of WW2
on your way Vist the WW1 sites as well just to see the differemce
hope this helps
