It depends on the age of your kids and what they want from a holiday.Santa Eulalia isnt a good place for teenagers unless they can get in with a crowd at the hotel and make their own entertainment. There are not many noisy bars/clubs or amusement arcade type places so most entertainment is hotel based. We have been twice with 15 and 12 year olds who had a great time but mainly because they made many friends in the hotel and all mixed well together,we never saw them after day 3 of the holiday.

At the other end of the scale I dont suppose its everybodies isea of a great place for tots as there isn't an amusement centre with trampolines, rides ect as there is in Es Cana up the road. There is loads to do by day with great beaches and water things and boat rides.

If you are satisfied with a good hotel and entertainment it will be fine if you want loud "british type bars"there aren't that many. There are loads of bars though were you can sit and watch the world go by.

There will be loads of families at that time of year and if It would be advisable to hire a car and see the island of Ibiza,it really is a beautiful place

as for excursions we tend to do thing independantly and travl about on the frequent ferry boats that go up and down the east coast of Ibiza,I would suggest a ferry boat to Ibiza town as a good day out.

Which hotel are you in?

We like santa Eulalia because of its prettiness and has a bit of sophistication.

Ages - 3 & 6.
staying at Orquidea.
have been to other resorts such as Alcudia and whilst there was loads for the kids , we personally thought they were too commercial (ala Blackpool) which is why Santa Eulalia appealed.
Will def try and see a bit of the island.

I think that you right about the other resorts being too commercial.Santa Eulalia is a far nicer resort than say alcudia but there wont be as much for the kids at night time, you have a good hotel that does do kids entertainment at evenings and is in a superb location right on the beach and only minutes to the centre of Santa E.

There is a mini train or of course bus and taxis that will take you to Es cana in minutes and here there is a few more things for kids, with a small fair, bars with trampolines ect ect. This could be an alternative should the kids want it on the odd occasion.

If you don't mind a resort that isn't too commercialised you will love SE.
There are loads of bars, cafes, resturaunts and shops and has a Spanish Town feel to it as well as a holiday resort.

Did you say theres a mini train that runs to Es Cana ? - the kids would love that.
does it run on an evening ?

are there ant boat trips you can recommend ?
and if wanting to hire a car for a day or two, is it best to just sort it once get there and ask the hotel staff

Yes there is a mini train that runs to Es cana in the evening and also runs around the local countryside in the day time.

There are ferry boats that run all day along the coast to Calla LLonga,Ibiza town,es cana and also a daily ferry to Formentera which has some fantastic beaches. Its a pleasant way to spend at least a half day visiting these other resorts.

As for car hire I think most places will do a minimum 3 day rental.
