Hi All
Looking for a change to Goa next year. Missus wants to see the camels and go camel riding, any ideas on the best place to do this.
Also looking at an alternative in Kerala checked out the jewel in the crown website and it seems the season finishes a lot earlier there (looking at going during the easter break think its around the 14/4/06) is this the case.
Also if anyones been to both goa and kerala whats the differences. Food, costs, accomodation etc etc etc.
Cheers
Rajasthan I think.

Hi MrStella
I have been going to Goa for the last nine years and Kerala is like Goa 9 years ago. I stayed in Kovalam 2 years ago very tranquil but less things to see and do than Goa. Backwaters well worth a visit and the capital Trivandrum. I don't know about Kerala in April as I went in November. A place I would go back to though!

Kerala's season finishes end of March. I personally preferred Kerala to Goa, not so commercialised. Would say that prices are about the same, we stayed at the Jasmine Palace (in Kovalam) which was fine. Went with Manos, flights with Monarch were dreadful although stop off in Bahrain helped We heard that future flights would be with Excel.
Plenty of trips on offer but as in Goa, best to arrange your own, about a third to half the price of Manos excursions.
Agree with SteveM, would definately go back.

I was in kerala for xmas and its a lot quieter than goa with only hotel entertainment as its based on eating and drinking in the restuarants at night the perfect chill out place.
No problems with food as it is the best i have tasted and you can see my reccomadations on a posting if you scroll down as the only problem is they dont adverise drinking in public as they do in goa and we stayed at the uday samudra beach hotel and flew with monarch which is very small for a trip that long.
