May 21st is a big local holiday. Corfiots celebrate their 1864 joining of Greece. A big parade is planned in the main city square, rain or shine. All the island bands (15 or so) particiapte. This is a great way to get a one day glimpse at the local life. Free and lots of fun.
Incicentally the 21st of May is also the Name Day for all Costas' and Heleni's, probably the next most common names after Spyros! So do not forget to wish your Greeks friends Happy name day!
We'll be staying just around the headland from Kassiopi in Ag Stephanos on the the 21st. Looks like we'll be popping down to Corfu town.
