Hi Ruth,

We are frequent visitors to Nerja and have been for the past 12 years.

My wife and I budget for about £600 for 2 weeks.

I would recommend the B.B.Q. and flamenco evening ( a trip out in the evening approx 30 mins drive east of Nerja ) where you BBQ part of your own meal, as much as you want to drink, watch flamenco dancing and if you are picked out then you go on stage and have a go yourselves with them. Make sure you are sitting in the front if you want to be picked.

Have a nice holiday.

Tony & Penny.

These are prices for resorts west of Malaga, so Nerja might be different.

Beer costs from 2 to 3 Euros a pint depending on whether there is any entertainment, plus location. Shorts (big measures) are around 2.50 plus 1.20 for a small bottle of fizzy mixer. Coffee is around 1 to 1.20. House wine is 1 to 1.50 a glass, 5 Euros a bottle.

Eating at a Spanish seafront fish restaurant, will set you back at least 20 Euros a head. On the other hand a backstreet Spanish restaurant serving a Menu Del Dia (menu of the day) can certainly be had in Benalmadena for 8.50 to 10 Euros (obviously you can pay more), where you get a starter, main course, sweet and half a bottle of wine. These are usually very good value but not top notch cooking. Anything with chips in a British cafe/bar/restaurant will be from 6 to 10 Euros. Large full breakfast from 4 5 Euros. Menu Del Dia in a Chinese (prawn crackers, starter, main, plus rice or noodles, and ice cream or coffee) is around 5 Euros, plus drinks.

Excursions run by Uk Tour Ops. will be a rip off. Book from the many local travel agents.

Hi, We found Torremolinos more expensive than Costa Blanca . Many nice retaurants with set prices. 10, 12 , 15 euros. Definately agree with crtinson book trips with local travel shop. We paid 10 euros cheaper to Gibralter than our hotel and travel rep. The underground is very good and cheap to travel on .We used it a lot and also the local buses. Hope this helps.
