We have though over the idea of moving to one of the canarie islands. Either lazarote or feutaventura. Hubby is a lorry driver and Im a multi talented house wife . How easy is it to get work on these islands (not bar work for hubby). Are there any recommended places where ex pats live. We dont like corellago or peurto del carmen though. We havent really thought about this in great depth but would just like some info. Also how much is property roughly (min 3 bedrooms).
Thanks, Becky
Finding reasonably paid work isn't easy if you don't speak Spanish. Even then, you really need to have some skills to offer to gain useful employment. You can probably get a low-paid job fairly easily, but will that pay you enough to fund your lifestyle? It's always best to come over if you can with enough savings to last at least 6 months, to give you time to settle in and look for opportunities. There are opportunities to create your own work, as they are both developing islands, if you have the ability to seek them out.
As for property, just put into Google "Lanzarote or Fuerteventura estate agents" and have a trawl through all the properties to get an idea of prices. As with any tourist area, you will pay more the nearer to the coast you are.
