I am going to castel montgri beginning of July, I have a 15 year old son who never has trouble making friends,
Im just a little worried about the reports ive heard of teenagers being thrown off the site for anti social behaviour??
Which is fair enough if they are ruining other peoples holidays,
however I think ive read somewhere on this site that the security guards are anti brit?? Anyone know if this still goes on?? Cheers
Anyone know how old you have to be to hire a moped costs tips etc please..........
The guards are excellent.
They will only bother you if you are being a nuisance to other holidaymakers. This includes disobeying the silence rule between midnight and 8 am.
On the note of hiring a moped, I believe it is 18.
I do honestly think, though, that they could do better with their silence rule. They are very strict about the no swimming between midnight and 9am rule, but fall a bit short of the silence one...they could do with chucking a few more people out to be honest!!
I (starting to sound old now! ) dont think that teenagers behave as well on site as they used to, but a lot of that is down to some parents. I wouldnt have been allowed to run around the Panorama pool area misbehaving, when my parents were there!!
cheers....
hope that helps!
Im thinking of going by train next year? you can get a cabin apparently?? quicker too.......... Or maybe try hypnotism to get on a plane!!!!
Never thought about the train, have thought about taking the car, but i guess it's just best value in the end to go with the bus!
How come you havnt considered buying in costa brava? tenerife cheaper?
cidermonster and pat, years ago(late 80's) my family went by train with a coach company from england that i can't remember we where on a coach to dover, walked on the ferry, walked off and on to a train, we had a cabin with bunks and arrived at perpignan about 8.00 am the next morning then onto another coach to estartit. that was the year i left my passport in the apartment and thought i would never get through customs, the rep was supposed to explain at french side for the ferry but was not there as we went through so i just walked through and then at the english side she explained the situation and the border people discussed it and i was wearing an iron maiden and the custom bloke said well she wearing iron maiden so she can't be that bad lets let her in i was about 18 at the time but did look younger so they probably felt sorry for me, lol
cheers
Presumably everyone knows about Castel Montgri's own web site? Its below if your not aware..........
I am Debs sister by the way and I really enjoyed Estatrtit I want to go back this year but have had to settle for Cypsela instead.
And for you you folks worried about the entertainment on site, the views and the people make up for it.
And finally.................. NO it is not like Butlin's in the sun! I worked at Skegness for two years so I am a bit of a Butlin's expert. I have never felt more relaxed and at peace as when I was at Castell Montgri. It great as you can have a reasonably priced holiday and the Chavs don't know anything about it. Apart from my sister I didn't see one!!
Am off to Cypsela on 19th May for 3 weeks still wish it was Castell Montgri but never mind. Keycamp have promised me that it is the best site in Spain and in their brochure so fingers crossed.
Any hints would be very much appreciated
Roll on Sun, Sea and Sangria!!!
Think i have a rough idea of where you are!
By the way she is in Estartit on 17th May till 7 June so if your out there what out for 4 Essex birds causing havoc and mayhem.
I can't believe there are still no reviews on Cypsela, someone must have been ther come on guys help me out!
That's usually the time i go too, but my wife couldnt get those holidays this year, so we are giving Estartit a miss this year (sigh!!!)
Well, where ever you end up may your holiday be sunny!
Just to let everyone else know that this time in two weeks we will be just arriving at East Midlands for our flight.
We plan to go into Estartit a couple of times during our holiday as we have heard that the best beach at Pals is 7 miles from the camp and Estartit is only 10 miles so we might as well go the extra for a clean, safe beach that the kids love plus the sexy ice creams they have in the main shopping area.
Keycamp have told us we can use our passes on both Castell Montgri and Cypsela so I might even sip some sangria by the panorama pool whilst watching Jeff the Hypnotist who welked in a Cav (no my friend that was no spelling mistake he did say welking in a cav)!
Anyway must stop mooning about my holiday and do some proper work!
