Hi Andy, You will probably have to pay a fine if you do not pay you tax on time.

You dont have to be in the country to pay your tax, you can transfer funds to your lawyer very easily, and he or she can pay on your behalf.

It will be directly related to the amount not paid

we did not pay one of our taxes as we did not know at the time and they wrote to the wrong address in uk, it was 4 months late our solicitor said we would be fined we paid up the taxes but she said the fine had been dissmissed and we were lucky.

I am sorry but you should know you have to pay a large property tax when you buy a property in Spain. and when.
No point blaming others, like someone else maybe should pay!!! Go to your bank and say cashflow prob and sort yourself out and pay your dues, end of disccussion. Stuart

Personally at this stage, I would deal with your solicitor only and not the estate agent. After all he is the legal body and not your agent. He is also getting paid for this part of the work. Good luck.
