hi everyone.
does anyone out there know the approx cost of running a medium out put, air con unit flat out for say a week.
we are trying to rent out our apartment and have been advised to make sure we cover the cost of running the units at full useage.
we have been told they are really expensive to run.
any ideas?
cheers
woody
I have sent you an email to your own email address with exact costs. But for anyone else we had a 2 week rental cost for electric for the stay was 96 million which at the time was around £37 2 gas bottles 44 million around £18 and cleaning which came to 60 million, around £25 at the time. This was on last years prices.
Hope that helps.
Jo
Is this the price for runing just one unit as we have 3x 9000 btu units in our villa in kusadasi
it depends on the efficiency of the airconditioner unit, but 9,000 BTU is probably about 1,000-1,200 watts, ie about electricity usage is about 1KW/hour - so say 10 pence/hour (no idea what electricity cost is in Turkey), so if three units are left on for 24 hours a day for a week, thats
10p*24*7*3 = about £50/week
this ties in with jo2beans figure of £37 for 2 weeks if it was for one air con run 24hrs a day, or for 2 run 12 hrs a day etc
a ceiling fan is normally 100 watts, so only 10% of the cost
