Hi Claire.

I came back yesterday. We noticed lots more famillies this year, and couples. There's still a few groups of lads/girls going round but you don't see much of them as they stay around the hotel all day and go back out when the clubs open around 12ish.

The weather has been really hot, hotter than last year. It was 39 degrees in the shade, and around 42+ on the beach. Very hot weather, buy 9 litres of water from a supermarket for around 2e and that will last a day or so between two people.

I don't think there's that many empty hotels in Faliraki this year. Don't forget the waterpark (20e plus 1e each way by bus), Rhodes Town (1.70e each way) and the boat trips. We also went to Turkey for 30e plus taxes, if you fancy going for the day let me know and I'll tell you where the cheapest travel agent is.

Don't forget to go to Flames BBQ for food, just up from Bedrock on Shopping Street - say Carl & Laura from Devon sent you! You get a free drink with your meal, and they're very nice.

If you wanna know anything else, just ask!

Have fun

Hey, thanks for the info.

Can you recommend any other bars/restaurants? Whats prices like out there for drinks/food?

Any day trips or places you would recommend visiting? Did you go to the water park?

Sorry for all the questions! xx

Just re-read your post and you did mentioned trips you did!

where in turkey do you go to from rhodes, is it marmaris? is the water park any good and worth a visit?

The waterpark is loads of fu and definitely worth a visit!

Stay for the entire day, get there early to avoid long waits!

For anyone who's been Falaraki this year also, where there many mozzies?

Last year when I went I didn't get any bites, but this time I came back with loads (probably as hotel was surrounded by fields) so I'd take some kind of repellant.

For the Turkey trip you get picked up from your hotel, taken to Rhodes Town harbour where you show your passport then board the boat. It goes over to Marmaris and takes a couple of hours. Don't wear a frilly skirt though as you will have to hold it down if you stand up on the boat! You get a small tour of Marmaris by coach including stopping at a turkish delight factory & rug shop. then you're free to shop.

During the day in Faliraki we just used to have a snack. A baguette will cost you around 3e, whilst beans on toast etc is 2-3e. Beer at most places is around 2e, a glass of wine from 1.50e. We ate at Flames everynight as we knew them from last year. We got a main meal, a drink, a dessert and a complementary drink with every meal for less than 10e each!

Last year we went to some other restaurants, but generally expect to pay around 6e for a main meal.

Faliraki waterpark is great. It has a new U shaped ride this year. Expect an aching back/friction burns (ow) etc if you go on any of the big rides. I'm proud to say I've done them all. The ground gets very hot too so you'll see everyone running. The waterpark costs 20e at the gate or you can book at a travel agent in Faliraki for slightly less (some give you a lift there too). You need 5e deposit for a locker, but that's returned when you hand the key back. there's food available at the waterpark too.

Enjoy yourself!

I forgot to add there are also boat trips available from any of the travel agents to Symi and Lindos. Symi is more of a romantic place for couples (quiet), and Lindos has some old ruins and stuff.

You can also catch the bus to Lindos if you want, it's cheap.

Got back from Rhodes on 13th July. We stayed at a hotel about 3Km outside Falariki. We only went into Falariki twice and we did'nt think very much to it. There seemed to be lots of places closed down.
Some nice bars and tavernas on the main road, among all the trash shops.
Bar Street was still there, lots of noise but not much action.
We went into Rhodes Town at night, where there is plenty of life.

As PrimalCarl said the trip to Marmaris is a good day out. Your meeting point on it is the Carpet Shop and when you get there, some one will offer to show you to a restaurant. If it's the Purple Rain Restaurant, go, you get a lovely meal there and it's very pleasant, right on the quay side

We were at the Rodos Royal, which is very near the water park and yes it's a smashing day out as well. The beach at Falariki is lovely and sandy and clean.

hi we just come back from falaraki and passed antonia apts lots of times they look verynice i must say, if you want a good meal go to desert rose across road from it very nice, and if you want your travellers cheques cashing go to morrisons across road too lol, there is a ferry to get to rhodes town that leaves from harbour bout 10.30 ish and every hour and 15 mins think, beach is beautiful too go to georgina's cafe on beach front she very friendly and food good too,bar street is still lively if you want it but theres lots of pubs cocktail bars without it, try bedrock it looks like the flintstones and alabamha's is good too,we loved it, oh a taxi is about 17 euro's that all and loads of them at airport waiting to take you to falaraki which is about 25 mins away that all, enjoy holiday i wish i was going back now!!!

When I went in June, I wasn't impressed with Faliraki. The "Slingshot" end of the beach , near Bar Street, was full of Gays caressing openly (male and female). You don't need that sort of activity in front of kids. Keep it behind the bedroom door boys and girls.
:o :o
(That should start something, Smiley)
