We are hoping to visit our son who is studying in Hong Kong from this September to May.
He will be coming home for Christmas so we were thinking of going when he has his next vacation which should be early February which I think is chinese new year.
Would that be a good time to go,we were hoping to add on a stay in Thailand or Bali, any ideas on that score ?
Certainly an excellent time to go to Thailand weather wise...during Chinese New Year you find many HK residents holidaying in Thailand, so that may be the time to visit HK. Certainly should be good with New Year celebrations in HK - don't know if some things might close down though.
It won't be quiet as everyone will be out joining in, most residents will be out with their families so everywhere will be very busy.
You will be able to see firecrackers, dancing lions/dragons etc. If you don't mind hussle and bustle it will be a great time to visit HK.
