The bus to Barcelona stops in fanals on the way, no need to trek up the road, but you will have to buy your tickets before at the busstation,the seats are numbered. And the busstation is gone by now, the new (temporary) one is 200m up the road direction tossa.

Lloret is not really to be compared with turkey or the DomRep, it is a cheap holliday resort where people go out and spend there time on the beaches (there are many more then just fenals and lloret) and in the bars and restaurants. Unlike turkey, where you spend your entire holiday inside the normally very clean and luxury suroundings of your hotelcomplex,including private beach.

Lloret also is situated in Europe and the people here do expect to gain european wages, unlike turkey or other places. With holiday companys paying as much as 15Euros per night incl. breakfast and dinner for a double room, I find it amazing what you get for your money here.

I can not see anything like a room with breakfast and dinner in lets say Brighton or Blackpool in season for 10.50 Pounds a night for two people. I be hard pressed to get my dinner for that (Here you have a three course meal in a restaurant incl. wine)

So, next time you look so negative at lloret, see how this city manages. Please do not blame the spaniards for a dirty beach, they are not on it,they work for you. YOU are on the beach.

I live here for the last 10 years and seen many if not most people have a great time, so your chances are very good,that yours will be a nice break.
