You've been more than helpful - I can't believe there is a website - we've searched and searched and couln't find one.
you've given us loads to think about - thanks for the advice about the mozzies etc. I can't wait to go now - 2 weeks and counting!
Sorry - forgot to ask - were you able to keep the room on for a late check out? our flight doesn't go until about 10pm so we'll need somewhere to shower and change at the end of the day.
I've put about 16 photos in the photo gallary section on this site but i don't know how long it takes for them to appear on the site.
I was surprised that there was a web site too and as me hubby is into doing all that, he is going to get the site more advertising so people can find it. Dimitris dosn't really like the site so me hub is going to revamp it for him.
They have about 3 apts they keep for private rental which works out lots cheaper than bookking through Portland so next year we will book with Dimitris. So many people go back there year after year.
We were lucky with our flights. We got picked up from the apts at midday so only had a couple of hours to wait but there is a big shower room, mirror and elec point in the bar area to change.
I didn't hear of anyone having their apt later than 10am but i am sure you could arrange someting with Dimtiris.
The food from the pool snack bar is cooked by Dragon (who is from Sardinia) was good and they have a big choice. They do a good UK breaky but to be honest we had our breakfast on the way to the beach at the Golden beach resturant.
Cristina (also from Sardina) runs the reception and bar in the day. Both very nice.
Emma and Dimitris run the bar in the eve which is open till 3am. Oh with the help of Max the dog and litza.
The beach is great fun. Some times it can get quite windy which is nice when it's so hot. The waves can get quite high which was fun. There is a life guard on duty all the time. There is a dounut man and a fresh sweetcorn man who sell up and down the beach all day. The dounuts are really big and tasty! Hmmm!
The sunbeds etc prices vary as you walk along.
The food in the resturants we went to was all very nice. There is a nice Italian and a Chinese called Jasimins on the left hand side along the main street by a church(bout 10 minutes walk past Golden Beach) The "al a Creme" sauce is really lovely!)
The friends we made there loved the resturant "Lancealot" which is new this year and got faboulous toilets!!??.
We also liked Ellas taverna which does greek dishes. The spinach and cheese pies are lovely. Ellas is at the end of the side road next to Golden Beach.
We were slightly disapointed with the bars as there seemed to be more "peaceful drink" ones. We sometimes like to go to a bit lively adult bar but we walked up to as far as the chinese and didn't see one. Maybe they don't liven up till midnight or there will def be more livelier pubs in Malia.
I'm going on a bit too much now!!
Have a fantastic time, i am sure you all will.
Ask Emma if the pink skirt fits!
I would be really interested what you think of the place etc when ya come home.
Luv Tan
The photos are in this Gallery

Oh it was a bit cloudy over the mountain on our last day when we took the photos but still sunny and boiling hot. So don't worry about the clouds!!
Have just booked to stay in a two bed apartment at the Amazone Villas next July. I would appreciate information on apartments and things to do in Stalis or Crete in general. We have two children ages 12 and 9. Many
